In this four season climate, summer always seem to show up late and leave early. We've officially said goodbye to summer this month with the arrival of fall. People always miss something iconic of summer. The beach. C a m p i n g. Festivals. FLIP FLOPS. Bees. I'll miss the long sunny days of course. The cicadas screaming through the woods. The song of the racetrack on a Saturday night. Packing a truck for a long trip. Morning coffee extra early before the day gets too hot. But mostly.... BUT MOST I'LL MISS THE BEES
Summer's fading Days are waning Autumn's in the breeze I'll miss the sunny days of course, But most I'll miss the bees. Fields turn gold And nights grow cold There's color in the trees The humid days are long since gone Soon followed by the bees. Bus stop chatter Children's laughter Crunching of the leaves Sounds of fall have filled the air But not the buzz of bees. Clocks turn back And wood gets stacked And blankets cover knees We pull out all our cozy things And say goodbye to bees. When fires burn And frost returns When days are dark and bleak Warm yourself and look ahead To when you'll see the bees.
